PIONEER PARK

The Town of Berthoud has received funding through a $469,000 GOCO grant.  This grant is being used to develop Pioneer Park in east Berthoud.  To view the final design plan, click here.

The park design has been presented to a neighboorhood meeting, the Parks and Open Space Committee, and Planning Commission.  A revised design will be presented to the Town Board of Trustees in October, 2011.  Upon Board approval, final construction plans will be prepared and sent out for bid.  Construction is anticipated to begin in early 2012 with a projected completion in summer 2012.

Pioneer Park Update
November 16, 2012

The Pioneer Park construction is moving along well.  The shelter is currently under construction, trees are recently being planted to take advantage of the beneficial fall root growth, and sidewalks are being placed.

Due to the early frost and snowfall, it has been determined that the sod be placed in the early spring.  The playground equipment, final sod and pond liner will now be finished in the early spring along with the opening of the park.

The park will be closed for the winter until all items can be completed.  There will be an outreach effort into the community in the coming weeks to organize the volunteers needed to assist in constructing the playground equipment and to install the sod.  The Town will need volunteer laborers as well as volunteers to help support the laborers.  Lemonade, cookies etc. are all welcome! If you are interested in being a volunteer, please contact Berthoud Town Hall at 532-2643 to get signed up.  We are expecting the volunteer day to be a fun and exciting time to see our newest park completed!
