Holiday Lights Contest

The 1st Annual Neighborhood Services Holiday Lights Contest is here! Don't miss out on this fun annual tradition as we celebrate the holiday season!

Open to homes in the Town of Berthoud that demonstrate some form of exterior holiday lighting, this contest will bestow honors and awards to the most festive exterior holiday decorations in our community.

Contest Entries

To enter, fill out the Holiday Lights Contest Entry Form.

Entries must be received by Thursday, December 1st at midnight to be eligible for voting.

Beginning Tuesday, December 6th, all entries will be listed on our Holiday Lights Contest Voting Page (link will be live when it's time to vote) where residents may vote through Thursday, December 15th to determine the "People's Choice" and "Best Berthoud Business winners. Selected Town employee judges will vote on entered homes to select the winners of the remaining categories on December 15. Winners will be contacted and have our festive yard sign placed in their front yard the week of December 19th.

Contest Rules

• Contest is free to enter.
• Entries must be located within Berthoud Town limits and only the owner or occupant of the property may enter.
• You must be at least 18 years old to enter.
• Entries must be received by Thursday, December 1st to be eligible for voting.
• Only decorations visible from the roadway will be subject to "TOB Staff Choice" judging.
• Town Staff judging criteria is based on: Creativity, Most Spirit, and Scale of Lights.
• Homes are limited to winning once every three years.
• Only one winner per contest category.
• Town of Berthoud employees/elected officials are excluded from entering the contest.
• Contest judges will determine which category is most appropriate for each entry.
• Winners will be contacted by Town staff the week of December 19.

Contest Categories & Prizes

• People's Choice: $100 gift card to the Berthoud business of your choice. (Based on community votes)
• Best Traditional: $100 gift card to the Berthoud business of your choice. (Based on Town of Berthoud staff judge choices)
• Best Use of Inflatables: $100 gift card to the Berthoud business of your choice. (Based on Town of Berthoud staff judge choices)
• Most Magnificent Miniature (A Category for Those Who Live in Townhomes and Apartments): $100 gift card to the Berthoud business of your choice. (Based on Town of Berthoud staff judge choices)
• Brightest Berthoud Business: A photo and write up in Berthoud's monthly InFocus newsletter. (Based on community votes)
