Youth Advisory Commission

Overview

The Town of Berthoud Youth Advisory Commission was formed in 2017 with two main goals in mind:

  1. Empower young minds through local opportunities and community support.
  2. Provide the Town of Berthoud insight and access to new ideas from unheard voices about important issues facing our community.

Commission Responsibilities 

  1. Produce and present an annual report to the Board of Trustees with recommendations on providing more resources, support, and guidance for local youth.
  2. Attend meetings twice per month to discuss matters they feel are pressing to their population.
  3. Be active in the community at events whenever possible.
  4. Work alongside elected officials and community partners in helping create new opportunities for youth in Berthoud.
  5. Be no younger than 13 or older than 18 and attend a Berthoud school.
  6. Work with an adult community member appointed by the Town Board and a staff liaison to assist with meetings and priorities.

    3. To be considered a candidate for this committee, complete the following application. This application will stay open to the public until all board seats have been filled. Candidates will be invited to an interview with the interview team and the Town Board makes appointments as a whole.
    4. All applicants are strongly encouraged to attend a regular scheduled meeting of the committee. The Town of Berthoud will make reasonable accommodations for access to Town services, programs, an dactivities and will make special communication arranagments for person with disabilties.
