The Berthoud Recreation Center is thrilled to announce the 2nd Annual Family Campout, scheduled for June 10. This exciting event takes place on the final day of ScorchFest. It offers the perfect opportunity for families, friends, and camping enthusiasts to continue a day of carnival fun into the night as they immerse themselves in the joy of outdoor nighttime adventures in our backyard.
"The Family Campout Event is designed to provide a unique experience for attendees," said Recreation Center Operations Supervisor Steve Hensley, "Whether you're a seasoned camper looking to test out your equipment before the camping season kicks into high gear, a family with young children wanting to introduce them to the wonders of sleeping under the stars, or simply a group of friends seeking a memorable night together, this event has something for everyone."
Participants can set up their own tents, sleeping bags, and other camping gear at Waggener Farm Park on the east side of the Recreation Center starting at 3:00 p.m. Families are welcome to bring pets and set up personal grills to enjoy outdoor cooking.
Additionally, the Berthoud Recreation Center is excited to offer a family yoga class the following morning at 8:00 a.m. This rejuvenating and invigorating session is open to all campout participants who wish to embrace the tranquility and mindfulness that yoga brings while enjoying the cool morning.
Registration for the Family Campout Event is required. Spaces are available for $55 each and include access to fire pits and s'mores.
