Update: The repair is now complete. It is recommended that all residents flush their water lines and home plumbing through several cold water faucets for several minutes to clear any material that may have entered the system.
The Water Department will shut down the mainline from Elmwood Street for an emergency service line repair today, Thursday 2/27/25. Residents in the area will experience loss of service from about 8:30am - 5:00pm. Water Department staff is on-site to help answer any questions and give residents updates.
Upon service restoration, it is recommended that all residents flush their service lines and home plumbing through several cold water faucets for several minutes. This will ensure that any material that entered the system from the repair is properly removed from the pipes. During these types of repairs it is typical to observe some discoloration in the tap water for a couple minutes following service restoration. If, for some reason, the water from the tap does not return to normal coloration within a few minutes of running, please call the Water Department emergency number (970) 556-6184.
We appreciate your patience and apologize for the inconvenience.
